This past week I have marketed, consulted and analyzed way to many marketing cases to mention. These moments always leave me with multiple content possibilities and aha moments to share with you.
I am motivated to share with you three of these aha moments that should serve you as a foundation across multiples of your digital platforms.
One
Citations.
About one month ago I was commissioned to optimize about 20 Mp4 raw videos.
Yes, you can optimize a video. In fact you can load a very large chunk of text into a video. And then if uploading to YouTube, the thumbnail can be optimized and loaded with SEO juiceyness too.
There are many things I did with these videos like the optimization.
And I was pleased to be complimented yesterday that they are ranking at the top of page one for my clients’ most wanted keywords.
But I also did something else in the name of OPTIMIZATION.
I used the description area, video, and photo to not only write unique relevant information supporting the video. Links were provided to the various aspects extolling my clients brand. A link to his GMB including his CID version of his url.
(What is a CID? This is the CID to Spider Juice Technologies GMB. It is a favorite of Google’s many versions of the same link you can get to your GMB.)
One other thing that I included into the description was his NAP.
- Name/Brand
- Address
- Phone
- Link to site
- Link to GMB
- Link to business.site
- Secret link
And on that note….
Two
NAPs.
You should attempt to place your NAPs wherever you place content when appropriate into social posts like here into Instagram:
This shows that your brand and sub brands are active. It also ties your brand entities together under one roof called your NAP.
There are other ways to do this like into hubs (example is the about page on YouTube where it asks your links. Or the aboutme.google.com page which is not public. But it is Google, so Google knows or same as schema. This is what originally got me interested in schema as it neatly ties a bow around your brand entities from your sites home page.
Since we looked at YouTube above, here is something you should do on all your videos on YouTube. I show my city here because my business does not use a local address. Most other local businesses can use their business name.
Three
Art of the Prime
I have digitally marketed now since the 1990s.
Bill Clinton was President about the time I started webmastering and SEOing Echamps. This was my first big project and it was a sports site with Hall of Famers like Eric Dickerson,d Tedy Bruschi, and Lomas Brown to name a few.
I learned lots there as I was thrown into the fire with promised tutelage from my design and seo mentor that never happened once I took on the project.
Drop shipping, seo, news syndication, content marketing, SEO, importing. All was to be learned by me during this time.
It was through these discoveries that I also got to acquaint myself and in many ways befriend, some of the greatest marketers in the world.
Hypnotic persuaders, communication experts, copy pros and more. Many who I banter with on Facebook to this day. There are not many SEO guys I am willing to humble myself to and call them mentor.
But one of my early SEO mentors dropped into a few conversations of mine on Facebook lately. Later on I would check my email. And find that this person had sent me a few promotional offers over the past week.
Was his emergence into my conversations a persuasion trick or friendly banter, or perhaps both?
Not sure. But I do know that I was primed. Aroused to receive and SEE his message from the hundreds of other emails in my box.
It is a way to ensure that amongst the daily growing noise and distraction, you are noticed. We discussed this in a recent post on priming here.
