Remember when the internet was your way to beat your Goliath?   Build it and they will come.

That is what attracted me to the business. I could take on the big guys. Isn’t that what you thought?

My first few successes came in the late 90’s  supporting and marketing a sports website. And then I built my own first gorilla. A real estate site that pulled about a million unique visitors a year.

In hindsight, despite what many might want to believe. I have relied (as I still do today), primarily on my sales and marketing instincts. While believing I can always “learn” into the technical necessities of the business.

Well, the challenge is that they built lots of “its”.

Same ole challenge, the more competition that you have,  the harder it is to compete.

  • Google is littered with Goliaths.
  • Facebook is littered with Goliaths
  • Youtube is littered with Goliaths
  • Twitter is littered with Goliaths

And what is Google anyway?

 It is all of the above, but the front page is the most search and many of the above will show up there. However, Only Adwords and GMB show up the most! 

So the competition has become exponential since the “good ole days”.

However.

Never has there been more opportunities to market your business successfully.

And your business instincts need to be be trusted in the new digital age.

We are moving towards what I  am calling the 4d digital marketplace. Where the lines of every platform are so thin that it is hard to figure out if Google is a search engine or personal assistant doubling as a social platform.

Why I coined the phrase years ago that

Social is SEO, is Reputation Marketing, is social.”

So long story longer,

How do you profit from all this mess?

Trusting that your ability to do technical stuff is bigger than the frustration of technical stuff. Read that again.  Trust your ability! 

Example.

You should be right now, claiming your Google My Business.

Then go out with there with your phone, with geo location turned on, and take photos of your business and wherever you go about town conducting your business.

Upload these to your business photos (and videos) in Google My Business (GMB).

You now have done more than what most of your competition is willing to do.

And that is your secret advantage.

Why don’t they do it?

They do not have your pal, Coach Tim to guide them along.

And they are content on being poor ole David.

Mostly they are not willing to get past their learning curve frustration.

Pro Tip: That is what we use Google for! When stuck, ask G. They usually can find the answer for you.

Now there are folks who just have bigger fish to fry than handle this sort of thing. And that is when let us take on the frustration from the ever giving but changing Google.  

Your choice.  Either way get on it there are tons of leads waiting to call you.
