My Take on the Google Leak

We live in a time of massive information overloads. And because of this we reactively delete and filter in order to make room in our brains for more mass information. Which makes it easy for other organizations to misinform (unintentional untruth) and to disinform (purposeful lie) to get consumed as fact.

Informational Shortcuts

In our mass deluge of data spewed at us we will often innocently take headline titles or click bait as fact in the name of efficient consumption of information.

Marketing and Sales have always had targets stretch perception in order to cause favor their way. Women put makeup on to create a mask or uniform. I know women who call this gearing up. So is it a lie or enhancement? Where does puffery and fraud begin and end?

Persuasion is a slippery slope and you must abide by your own code. However, manufacturing giant events like a leak seems to be unethical in my view. Although we cannot say for sure that it was manufactured, which is why it works.

SEO authors hungry for a scoop. Eagerly sending out the news hoping to beat the other SEO writers. We risk being useful viral idiots for Google’s or other platforms needs.

So how do you know if you are being played?  Sales requires emotional transference in order to get the buyer excited to do what you wish. The book selling the invisible tackles the service industry and how do you sell a service. But knowing where the line gets crossed is an act of sales maturity to  often disregarded in this competitive environment. The only way to recognize propaganda is to know the elements of propaganda.
