I have always looked at technology under the comparative, is it better with or without this widget?
So I would like to introduce some practicality into the discussion of Artificial Intelligence. Amongst all the hype mostly generated from generative text, or Chat GPT from openai.com AI is much more than a way to spam Google with thousands of new articles.
So let’s look at YouTube videos as study #1
There is an AI Chrome extension called eightify and it amongst other things will give you a breakdown of what the video is all about. It comes for a fee though a few uses per day. Although it weirdly will work beyond that even if I do not ask it to.
I prefer YouTube Summary with ChatGPT & Claude. Because it puts the transcript into Chat GPT and it is there for me to prompt for more information on that transcript. And it archives so that I may come back to this conversation.
Eightify will give us a quick clean break down of insights and summary about the video. With Emojis too! This can help in crafting a description or comment.
But more interesting is that they are using my convenience as a way to archive into their website my synopsis of the video. And thus they are using an old trick for content which is to take video transcripts and repurpose them into new content.
Literally what I am doing currently with old newsletters, books, web articles that has my name on it. And training my Twin AI with it, and repurposing it into articles, books, PDFs/Documents and videos to name a few. About 400 old newsletters are being put into a document as I write. AI will help me organize it.
So I caught Eightify in a brilliant move. As you see in the video. And then I checked again off of this video and you can see the results.
I wanted to know if I could get them to give me a link. It looks like the answer is no. But the next test will be to get them to name my nap at least (name address phone url) in the opening of the transcript. Nonetheless smart on them for creating an automated video archiver. And hey anytime I can get a digital asset embedded it is not all that bad.
Drumroll please. Here they are right below my video:
This is how it lists on the site with a curation from the transcripts along with the video.
In the name of completeness on the Summary discussion Harpa AI is also nice.
For the next dive into practicality, let’s look at cloning ourselves.
An old client of mine had a tracheotomy years ago and makes it difficult for him to talk, if at all.
So he asked on an AI group about copying his voice and then “dubbing” that into a likeness of himself. Almost a deepfake of himself.
I mentioned that D-di.com is one place where I can use their avatars, my own from their image maker or usually I like to use Midjourney to make an image. Or my own likeness like my friend is doing. But I am not using my voice clone yet.
