Your Marketing Mix Exponentialized

We live in an over-communicated society. This may seem to some good people that we live in less morality than ever. I’ve always argued that this notion is ridiculous. I don’t recall Ghengis Khan rolling through towns killing and raping the children of late. But one guy is in a gunfight in Florida and it gets treated as if the story as if it happened next door. And the collective personalizes it as their own atrocity.

Because the so-called news is in competition with you and me on platforms such as this, which is Facebook, they must compete for the attention and of course with one another, so they’re in competition with you and me and the other corporations that do news.

This statement is more profound than what one might think on the surface.

We live in an over-communicated society. Thus it may seem to some good people that we live in less morality than ever.

I have always argued that it is ridiculous. Ghengis Khan is not rolling through town killing, and raping the towns.

But one guy is in a gunfight in Florida. Gets treated as if it happened next door. And the collective personalizes it as their own.

And because the so-called news is in competition with you and me on platforms such as this. They must compete for the attention. And with one another.

And then this gets leveraged by politicians, no one better than 45, to get attention he otherwise would not get to their liking

If you are in business, your ability to get attention. You know the Attention of the AIDA, Attention, Interest Desire Action family?.

Is being drowned out and like the news, and a portion of your competition most likely has gone for the low brow hyperbolic approach.

Your job is to find a way to get attention while the rest of the world throws mud at the wall.

Newly formed habits are emerging, while the old ones are being broken. How are you pivoting?

And so this gets leveraged by politicians no one better than 45 to get attention he otherwise would not like getting.

So if you are in business, your ability to get attention is everything. You know the attention of the AIDA: attention, interest, desire, action family. It is being drowned out and like the news, a portion of your competition most likely is gone for the low brow, hyperbolic approach.

Your job is to find a way to get attention while the rest of the world throws mud at the wall and that each other newly formed habits are emerging right now.

2:40 Four Ps of Marketing. It’s the marketing mix. Product, price promotion, and place. According to Wikipedia, the term marketing mix is a foundation model for businesses historically centered around product price, place, and promotion. It’s been defined as a set of marketing tools that the firm uses to pursue its marketing objective in the target market.

6:53 Well, there’s a lot of ways to get from A to B. years ago, I was in Vegas, I stayed at the Luxor and I’m not a gambler. I was there for reasons other than gambling. I remember coming out I got my taxi and he goes. “how was your stay, sir?”

You know, nice cordial guy. I say great, but man, they shouldn’t make it so hard to get from my room to get out of that place.

He says, “Well, that’s because all roads lead to the casino.”

Funnels

Before the internet, I met a guy who is a professional copywriter well known in the industry. You know, professional copywriters can make $30,000 for writing sales copy.

I think Leo Costa in my interview he said Jay Abraham charged him $15,000 to write an 18-page sales  letter. And that was long, long ago. I believe that sold a million units.

Take advantage of your marketing mix. What is available to you:

14:15Why most businesses are looking for the equivalent of a one night stand with their clients. The Round the bases concept of marketing.

22:40 Rule of Seven: let’s pretend we’re in the 1950s and we love sci-fi right? We are the generation that is going to give birth to Star Trek and these Roddenberry and all these guys that were sci-fi My family is just a bunch of dorks right my kids walk around in Martian outfits and space guns and we have little cardboard spaceships in the playroom, you get the idea. So dad is on the couch, smoking his pipe, reading the Sunday paper. And in the section from movies is this great sci-fi flick called Star Wars and it’s full-page ad and dad goes “Oh man, this looks good. Hey, kids. Come look at this” and everybody’s excited.
Attention awareness. Yeah.
And so that’s number one. Number two is….

25:55 And so the other piece of this is primacy, psychological priming. …but priming is a much less obvious when it’s happening. … the primacy it could be something as simple as seeing the kids in a spacesuit.

An old school example of a Don Lepree style tiny little ad, an offer, which most likely was free or minimal, which sold a bigger offer.
