The new year is upon us. And I was thinking about a conversation I had with my wife about positive relationships. And sadly, unhealthy relationships.
The chat was in light of couples. However, I think the idea makes sense across contexts into business, family, and friendships.
The metaphor I came up with was with my two hands out in front of me. And in a healthy relationship we merge into one collective. Losing what wasn’t necessary, and growing into our larger better selves. The hands slowly merging into one. And then I saw this video on Facebook which demonstrates the lesson perfectly.

The unhealthy relationship is perhaps the left hand pulling the other hand over into a forced merge. A controlling merge. Where the one side loses themselves to the control. Until their purpose is lost.
So I remind you, as I will myself. To seek relationships from here on out that have your better self and your better outcomes in mind.
Happy and Prosperous New Year to you and yours!
